Morningstar Reference Tool

The Department of Labor's new requirements surrounding Schedule C of Form 5500 present a unique challenge for plan sponsors. Some required indirect compensation information on the Schedule C may be reported as "eligible indirect compensation" (EIC) if certain disclosure requirements are met. This includes investment management and distribution fees paid from plan assets-fees received from sources other than directly from the plan for services rendered to the plan.

To assist in compliance with these new requirements, Voya has provided a web based tool to assist plan sponsors gather disclosure information. The information available on this tool is as follows:

  • Fund Identification such as CUSIP, Ticker, Name
  • Fund fees expressed as a percentage of average daily net assets such as management, distribution, 12b-1 fees
  • Entity receiving fees and recipient's name and EIN (employer identification number), as well as a number of methods for identifying the fund and service provider from whom information must be reported.

The disclosures provided from this tool are intended to assist plan sponsors gather infromation to satisfy the EIC requirements for Form 5500 Schedule C purposes, as applicable.
